Mr. Yoshiyuki Kato started his career in 1991 with Panasonic Corporation with the product planning team for Lighting division, after graduating from Osaka institute of Technology in Japan. As Manager, he was involved in product, strategy and sales planning. After working across departments for ten years, he was appointed General Manager, Oversea Lighting Business Department of the company in 2012 where he overlooked and strategized the group’s lighting business in Professional lighting sector. In 2013 he assumed the role of Lighting Director of Anchor Electricals Pvt LTD. Even though fluorescent lamps were still the mainstream at the time, he was quick to declare his intention to enter the LED business and decided to exit the fluorescent lamp business. As a result, the lighting business has grown significantly and is now the next pillar of Panasonic Life Solutions India. After that he took on the role of Managing Director of Panasonic Life Solutions Professional Lighting Businessin 2020. Soon after, he was handed over the reins as President of Panasonic Life Solutions Turkey, where he achieve 1.6 time Sales growth in Turkey, CIS and Europe market. Post his stint in Turkey, Mr. Kato took over his current responsibility of Managing Director of Panasonic Life Solutions India in July 2022. Early in his life Yoshiyuki imbibed the basic approach of collective wisdom and active listening within him, two tenets he always uses in his work. His deep understanding of the product and its sales and marketing have always aligned with the company’s global vision to make human life simpler, safer and comfortable, by enhancing the consumer experience for both brands: Anchor and Panasonic. He further wishes to contribute in the development of advanced technologies and experiences developed in Japan and abroad, and front run its expansion in India With an aim to enable every Indian citizen to to customize his or her own living environment, to lead more comfortable life, he is striving to network individual electrical installations and enhance the user interface.
